Intro to me!
Hey! My name is Arun Ramanathan, and I’m an aspiring NLP practitioner and stress management coach. I’m currently working in tech sales, and I’m taking a comprehensive NLP course from INLP on the side.
From my teens to early ish 20s, you could probably best describe me as a daydreamer and ambitious person, but very lazy in practice. I’d consistently imagine myself doing these big things, but then I’d end up watching television and eating junk food nonstop. It was like being extremely happy with effort I put in those imaginations I conjured up, and then I rewarded myself by just lazing around. It’s no wonder my parents were so upset with me when I was younger, not that I every listened J. And the worst part of it was that I was incredibly stressed out over my percieved lack of control.
I even looked at other people and thought to myself, “Why am I not living that kind of life?”
This is not to say that I’m not grateful with how my life has turned out so far. In fact, I really do believe everything happens for a reason, and everything truly is working out in my favor (even it doesn’t feel like that in the present). I’m blessed to understand the value of discipline and learning what not to do based upon my past.
It’s with this mindset I’ve cultivated over time that I ended up seeing something called NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). I’ve always been into psychology, and it was something I had considered going to back to college again to get a degree for. And then I found that NLP was a set of psychology principles, and it has the power of reprogram a person’s way of processing information.
Rewiring one’s mind to achieve a healthy lifestyle was something that truly resonated with me. I aspire to help people do that on this blog through a writing medium so that I can reach a greater number of people!
